This PDA is the best. I get alot of grief because it appear so big and bulky especially when I place to my ear to call someone it does really comes in handy for research. I remember once when I was doing a minor property inspection and had no idea what a Furuno LC-90 was and why I couldn't find one on any of our boats. I found this intriguing, since we were suppose to have 17 of these things. So after a brief stint googling on this PDA I discovered LC-90 was a Loran/Charlie model. A model that was 3 generations behind what we posses now. For unfamiliar with navigation equipment Loran/Charlie was a positioning system that vectored by using different transmitting stations. My thinking is, since I was young lad at the time, The computer received the signal and figured where one was at by measuring the bearing line and signal strength. Since this system fell into disuse by sometime in the 1990's, Figure that it has been awhile since the minor property report was filled out properly.
Of course there are plenty of things I could use if I were update this system. One thing would be to add a bigger internal memory, and maybe a faster modem so it wouldn't take so long to download data. It also wouldn't hurt if the battery could do more between charge ups.
It happened again!
