I was watching 'Honey I Shrank the Kids' while I was on duty yesterday. I never noticed the flaw in Rick Moranis theory. His character claimed that by condensing the space between atoms of an item. Cargo transport would be able to carry more cargo. The problem comes if one stops to consider, If one removed the space between atoms, among other quantum problems, it would lighten the load. If I were shrunk in this method to the size of an ant I would still be 195lb. That in itself would cause a host of problems. Most surfaces are designed to hold so much weight per foot. If 195lb were condensed to a square centimeter I fear many surfaces would fail. It would definately make walking through the backyard much more dificult.

The good news is that I can turn on the I believe button and just enjoy the movie. I was just intrigued that after so many years of watching the movie I just recently discovered this little flaw.
CHINA SUB SECRETLY STALKED U.S. FLEET
By Bill Gertz
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

This reminds me of the cold war times. Even when we were making overture toward the russians and they were wooing us both our military kept tabs on each other. I'm also concerned about the sub surfacing 5 mi from the carrier. It shows that the chinese were making a statement. modern diesel do not need to surface to recharge batteries. Surfacing 5 mi withing 20 mi of a carrier would be careless because of the aircraft. within 5 mi your just asking for a confrontation. Of course their statement is pretty stupid since now that the U.S. knows the chinese are probably stalking our ships we will just step up our anti-sub routine. It may be difficult to "spot" a diesel sub running on battery power but it isn't impossible. Of course the chinese may not be poker players but it doesn't mean they aren't wily characters. It leaves you thinking if they are willing show this what do they have hidden behind their back. Could be nothing, an act of deperation, they are keeping us guessing. They could have subs patroling off the coast of CA.
This has been a really strange weekend. Because of Veteran's day we were off on Friday. Friday was spent scoping the internet, then doing my laundry. On Saturday I went to church because I had duty on Sunday. So by Saturday evening I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't Sunday evening.
Man did I need to do laundry. Because of 1st class assoc meeting a D&B last Friday, the mens retreat later on that day until Sunday, and couple all this with piss poor planning on my part, I never got to do laundry last weekend. By the middle this last week I had recycling clothes, I had to wear gym gear for scivvies, all and all it was disgusting.
Saturday service is pretty nice. It I think it is about the size of what 0800 service use to be. whether this is because the game was in town or it is a normal occurance, but less people usually means a looser group. Miles was preaching the second part of the deuteronomy series he titled Mobedience. This sermon was titled Sin No Mo. Basically Moses was reminding about all there complaining the tribe had done all the way to promise land and while they wondered the wilderness. they complained about water, meat, the leaders God had placed under. Now that they were going into the promise land they need to remember and sin no mo'. Miles was more informal on Saturday, my guess is because since there is only one service on Saturday it doesn't seem so much like a grind. On Sundays most of the services are more getting the word out and getting the congregation out the door so the next group can get in.
Well I've got a new toy or rather set of toys. One of the things that I had learned while failing my last two classes was I cannot study at home. Unfortunately, I can only do so much without having to get on line. I have only one place that I would have been able to have free unlimited access to the internet. Not anymore though, now I have a new laptop and sprint wireless card. I taking it for a spin right now while I am on duty. Normally the WARCOM block access to blog site, go figure right, but with my new set up I can still blog my heart out, of course I'm sure this isn't a good thing to some people. The biggest downside would be the extra $40.00 a month to sprint. It would have been more but the good lady that helped me out cut away alot of fat from my account.
