Dybis came back this week, and he is as happy as man that just got kicked in the nuts. Tried to keep him there but I think eventually someone stood up and said nothing else could be done. We tried to get him transfered to Louisiana, where he was TAD because we were under the impression that he was getting out in a couple of months. At least I was under that impression. I turns out he isn't due to leave the Navy until Nov next year, he doesn't want to but he's reached high year tenure before he is eligible for advancement to second class. At the BBQ this Friday he said he was going to try to work the system as to get an extension, but I don't think that will happen. The Navy does waive high year tenure, hell we just had a chief retire after serving for over 30 yrs. There is a Senior Chief that remembers him as an instructor the when the senionr chief was just a tadpole, but the navy makes allowances for hard to fill billets. since there are more Boatswainsmate than one could shake a stick at I don't we're mission critical.
