So We voted for these people?
You would think that with Emperor Bush at the helm our congress and senatorial bodies would have their hands full. We have borders that let in the people we want to stop and stop the work force that is required to make our nation function. We have Emperor Bush agreeing with the world court and trying to subject their authority over the sovereignty state courts. We have problems with the deficit. It is expected for a country to have some debt, but ours is reaching 10 bil. according to CNN.
So with all this in the air screaming for attention what does our congress spend time doing. They are writing a resolution condemning Turkey for it genocidal action in the 1st World War, the 1st World War. This is so wrong on so many levels. More presently is our need for continued support from that country. According to Gen. Gates:
“70% of U.S. air cargo destined for Iraq goes through
Turkey, as does about one-third of the fuel used by the U.S.
military in Iraq.”
I guess the congress feels that the best way to support our troops by bringing them home is to cut their legs out from under them by taking away their support, yes that seems like some wise thinking.
CNN did a brief summary which showed why the Bush administration, Military leaders, and even some congressmen were against it. Afterward Wolf Blitzer felt the need to highlight what Pres. Bush said in 2000, before 9/11 and before the quagmire called Iraqi freedom. The then Gov. Bush told the American public that it was terrible what the Turks did to the Armenian people and he wants to officially recognize it when he is president. It was indeed naïve of us to believe him when his lips moved but we were younger then. A full year passed and no movement of any resolution. It is only now when we are dependent of this country for supplies that we decided to put forth this resolution. Think about it 1917 to 2000 no official condemnation from the United States, in 2000 we hear a presidential candidate say he’s going to raise a fuss, and then nothing until 2007. This isn’t something passed because of genuine care for a heinous crime, it is nothing more than machinations to stop an unpopular war.
It all comes down to this how does one withdraw an arrowhead without making the wound bigger? Our legislative body listens to all of us ‘experts’ and tells us it must be pulled out the same way it went in. Their entire strategy is designed to force the administration and the military to do just that. But I’m under the mind set that when Bush messed up he did it big time, there are no little mistakes as president. Like a barb arrow the only way to free us of this conflict is to push on through.
It happened again!
