Wow, it is a good thing I further researched the area after booking tickets to La Plata, MO, today. If I had left off with a feeling of accomplishment with plans of just picking up a car when I got there I would have learned that there was no rent-a-car agencies there, no bus stations, nothing, podunk. Let me tell you that would have put a damper on my vacation. At least I would have had something to write about.
All in all I'm just about set. I have a train booked all the way to Saint Louis, and a plane booked for my flight back; it is alright to lollygag on the way to vacation but I'll not risk getting slammed for being late coming back. All I have left to do is get a hold of dad later to have a letter of intro sent to my apt so I can get a car at a discount.
A successful MWR food sale, passing height and weight measurements after a three day fast, and now this, I would say this has been a good week.
